Exhibition “Czech Castles and Chateaux” in Jakarta
On Sunday, November 10, 2024, the exhibition “Czech Castles and Chateaux” was ceremonially opened at the National Gallery in Jakarta. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from both countries – the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Indonesia H.E. Jaroslav Doleček, the Director General of the National Museum Michal Lukeš, and the representative of the Indonesian Heritage Agency Zamrud Setya Negara.
The exhibition, prepared by the National Museum in cooperation with the National Heritage Institute of the Czech Republic, has already visited several countries. The exhibition presents the rich architectural heritage of the Czech Republic and offers visitors a unique insight into the history of Central European architecture. Through photographs, historical maps, and period depictions, it showcases more than twenty castles and chateaux from all corners of the Czech Republic. It thus provides visitors with a unique glimpse into the rich history of Czech architecture.
The exhibition is open to the public daily until the end of November during the regular opening hours of the National Gallery in Jakarta. After concluding in Jakarta, the exhibition will travel to other major Indonesian cities, allowing residents of other parts of Indonesia to become acquainted with Czech cultural heritage.
